Our Beliefs

  1. There is one God,(1) who is infinitely perfect,(2) existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(3)

  2. Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.(4) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.(5) He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust,(6) as a substitutionary sacrifice,(7) and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.(8) He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures.(9) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.(10) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.(11)

  3. The Holy Spirit is a divine person,(12) sent to dwell, guide, teach, empower the believer,(13) and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.(14)

  4. The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.(15)

  5. Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God:(16) he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature,(17) are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.(18) The portion of the unrepentant and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment;(19) and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss.(20)

  6. Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God.(21)

  7. It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly,(22) being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.(23) This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.(24)

  8. Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body.(25) Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age.(26)

  9. The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, (27) which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.(28) The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.(29)

  10. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life;(30) for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.(31)

  11. The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent(32) and will be personal, visible, and premillennial.(33) This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.(34)

Pastor Bryan Downs
724-330-2188 (house-church phone number)
2004 Grad of Nyack-ATS
1992 MS Grad of CUP
10 years of church, ministry & seminary (Nyack-ATS)
In 1995 Bryan recommitted his life to Jesus Christ and experienced the beginning of God's sanctifying work, shortly thereafter he experienced a calling into ministry. He has served in Clarion, Waynesburg, Charleroi and now here in California, PA. We seek to be committed to Jesus Christ, Bible believing, Holy Spirit empowered and Great Commission directed.
In a paraphrase – The Christian and Missionary Alliance was started as an alliance between Christians of many different denominations to support missionaries. I like to call us the 'un-cola' because we have the authority and accountability of a denomination but the flexibility of a movement.

The Opportunity & The Need

There is a missing generation from our churches today. Most churches don't have too many people between the ages of 18-35 but did you know that God seems to work through this group? God has used college students to begin nearly every revival in the last 300 years.

Vision

Our Vision is to bring God to this generation - the Missing Generation and to everyone else too. You want to experience a God who is real - otherwise what is the point? If you are going to get involved with a religion - you are either just checking it out because you want to be respectful of different people and religions or you are hoping there might be something to it - maybe God is real. Could God be real?

Small Beginnings

Starting a new church is referred to as 'church planting' because since God is real churches are like living things, spiritually speaking, and they start out small and grow bigger and bigger. They grow through God's Spirit as we learn about the Son of God, study His Sacred writing and pray and worship. Jesus bought our freedom and this living church grows as people are set free.

Where We Want to Go:

Our vision is to have two worship services - a concert and a small house church. We plan to have a concert style service at Jozart Studio (or elsewhere) where our worship team and various artists perform and lead Christian worship songs and different people speak each week to talk about what God has done in their life. And the house church will be for those who are sure they are and want to be Christians to meet together and go deeper. We envision this group steadily growing into a full blown community church.

Core Values

Christ the King heals today, is the source of Life and Holiness, and is the Savior every human desperately needs. God loves, calls, and uses young people, so we are going to take that seriously. God loves, calls, and uses older people too, so we are going to take that seriously. We observe that the Holy Spirit unites us together in love.

Mission Statement

Believing in the power of the Gospel and trusting Jesus to build His Church, we believe we are called... To follow Christ wholly. To reach college students and others with the Gospel. To train them to do the same.

Salvation Plan

Mt 15:3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? Think about it, between God and humans, who would have the power to reach the other? God has told us that though we were born His enemies He loves us (Ro 5:8). And He sent His Son to die for our sins. (John 3:16) Jn 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
(Believers should look to Ephesians 4…)

Students Ministering to Community…
Community Ministering to Students:

We believe that God will raise up workers, that our church will be a family and a mission base. As we pull together we will be able to minister to one another and in time, God will bless us with ministries to seniors, families, singles, students and children!
